250 gm red chillies, 1 cup mustard dal, 1 cup methi (fenugreek seeds), 1 pinch asafoetida, 1 teaspoon turmeric powder, 15 black pepper, 1 tblspoon saunf (fennel seeds), 1 cup jaggary, 1 cup oil, and salt to taste..
Make long pieces of chillies. Mix mustard dal, fenugreek seeds, salt and asafoetida. Now heat the oil in a pan and add the mixture. Let it cool at room temperature. Now add black pepper, jaggary, saunf and mix well. Now add chillies and mix all the masala well. Store the pickle it in an air tight jar.
