Generally the sookhi subji or the stir fried vegetables do not use these ingredients. The green vegetables like spinach, bottle gourd, etc. does not use curry powder in all its form. The cooking methods used in the Indian cooking many times use steaming. The rice is generally steamed and the hot chapattis or pancakes made of wheat flour are also cooked overfire. There is no oil used in these dishes. Vegetables like spinach or other green leafy vegetables do not need any oil to cook and are generally cooked with a drop of oil. The food items cooked are very hygienically cooked and as all the ingredients are fresh they are healthier. Indian food habit of taking two big meals in a day and other small meals for breakfast and tea in the evening fulfills all the requirements of the nutrition needed for the body. With changing time Indian food habits area also changing and less oil and spices are being used for Indian cooking. |
